The 2016 Service Learning Video Contest Winner

September 28, 2016 Marc Amigone No Comments

Every year, students travel all over the world on ACIS service learning trips. This summer, we held a contest offering each group undertaking a service learning itinerary the opportunity to film a video encapsulating their trip, with the winner earning a donation on their behalf made to a charity of their choice by ACIS.

The winning video was submitted by Chris D’Antonio from RHAM High School in Marlborough, CT. He traveled to Costa Rica with his classmates and volunteered at La Marina Wildlife Rescue Center in Alajuela Province. He and his classmates assisted with projects such as improving habitat space, feeding the animals and collecting data.

Chris has asked ACIS to split the $500 donation ACIS plans to make on his behalf between La Marina Wildlife Rescue Center where he and his classmates volunteered and The Quiet Corner Refugee Resettlement Project, a local charity in Connecticut dedicated to dealing with the ongoing refugee crisis.

Our mission at ACIS is to change students’ lives through travel. We’re extremely proud to work with educators all over the country who are so dedicated to helping their students evolve and grow into global citizens.
